Session 4 of the Vintaag campaign. The party finally crossed the ridge into the southern valley.

Recap

The previous three sessions had built up the valley as a place full of things the party should not meet. So when they crossed the ridge, they were tense. They scouted. They debated. They sent the ranger ahead.

What they found was the village — which they'd been warned about — but the village was deserted. Not abandoned-deserted. Recently deserted. Tools on the tables. Doors hanging open.

Where it landed

By the end of session 4 the party had three competing theories about what happened to the villagers and had committed to none. They went back over the ridge to overnight in safer ground.

Session 5 will start with the morning ride back down. I have prep for three of the four likely paths they'll take from here. The fourth one I'll improvise.
